Paramount+ has announced that the critically acclaimed revival series Frasier has been renewed for a second season. The revival, starring Kelsey Grammer, has captivated the hearts of both long-time fans and a new generation of viewers. The first season is currently available for streaming exclusively on Paramount+. Season two of Frasier will continue the tradition of filming in front of a live studio audience. The series follows Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, as he embarks on a new chapter in his life by returning to Boston to confront new challenges, cultivate new relationships, and perhaps realize a few long-held aspirations.
Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of Programming at Paramount+, expressed his enthusiasm.
He praised Grammer’s triumphant return to the iconic role of Dr. Crane. Grossman emphasized the series’ ability to introduce Frasier to a new generation while reaffirming the timeless appeal of Grammer’s portrayal. Fans are eagerly anticipating what season two will bring. Kelsey Grammer expressed his joy at the series’ renewal, describing it as a continuation of a beloved love story. He extended his gratitude to CBS Studios and Paramount+ for their partnership and eagerly anticipated sharing with the audience what the creative team has in store for the upcoming season.
The series features a talented ensemble cast.
It includes Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst as his old college friend turned university professor Alan, Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague Olivia, Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate Eve, and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David. Season one also treated fans to guest appearances from original series cast members. Bebe Neuwirth and Peri Gilpin, added a delightful nostalgic touch to the revival.
The original Frasier, which aired from 1993 to 2004, remains a towering figure in television history, boasting 37 Emmy wins and 107 nominations for a comedy series. The revival’s success is a testament to the beloved sitcom’s enduring legacy and universal appeal. Frasier was created by writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli.
