The story picks up years after the original film’s events in this new Freaky Friday. Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan), who once swapped bodies and lives, are now facing a different kind of transformation. Now an adult, Anna has a daughter of her own and is preparing to welcome a soon-to-be stepdaughter into her family. As Tess and Anna navigate the complexities of merging two families, they encounter another bizarre twist of fate that challenges their bond and understanding of each other.

The sequel aims to capture the spirit of the original while introducing a multigenerational twist.

Fans can expect the same blend of humor and heart that made the first Freaky Friday a hit, with the added dynamics of a modern family. Julia Butters, known for her breakout role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” will play Anna’s daughter. Sophia Hammons and Manny Jacinto add to the cast’s diversity and talent. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, celebrated for her role in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever,” is another exciting addition.

As production kicks off, excitement is building among fans eager to see Curtis and Lohan back in their roles. The original “Freaky Friday” was praised for its humor and the chemistry between its leads. This sequel promises to bring the same energy and charm to a new generation of viewers while delighting long-time fans. With a release date set for 2025, audiences can look forward to another round of body-swapping hilarity and heartfelt moments from the Coleman family.
