The movie “Freelance” is by director Pierre Morel, the creative mind behind hits like “Taken” and “Peppermint. It follows the gripping story of Mason Pettis, portrayed by the charismatic John Cena. He is a former special forces operative trapped in a mundane desk job. Mason’s life takes an unexpected turn when he accepts a freelance assignment. It lands him as private security for Claire Wellington, a once-renowned journalist played by Alison Brie.

The plot takes a riveting twist as Claire embarks on an interview with the enigmatic and impeccably dressed dictator, Juan Venegas (Juan Pablo Raba). Just as the interview is set to uncover groundbreaking truths, chaos erupts in the form of a military coup. This thrusts the trio into a fight for survival in the unforgiving jungle. As bullets fly and tensions rise, the unlikely team must navigate the treacherous environment and their conflicting personalities. As the trio strives to escape the dangerous jungle and evade their ruthless pursuers, “Freelance” promises a rollercoaster of survival, unexpected alliances, and explosive revelations. It will be in theaters on October 6, 2023.
