Mad Max spin-off Furiosa headed to theaters this May.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have finally released a new trailer for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” Academy Award-winning George Miller directs it. The movie will hit theaters on May 24th. This marks Miller’s return to the gritty, dystopian universe he first introduced with the groundbreaking “Mad Max” series over thirty years ago. “Furiosa” will explore the origins of the formidable character from the critically acclaimed “Mad Max: Fury Road.” It promises an all-new, standalone, action-packed adventure. Anya Taylor-Joy will play the titular role, and Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, and Tom Burke will also join the cast. Watch the trailer below!
The movie is set in a chaotic world, where a young Furiosa is taken from her home in the Green Place of Many Mothers and forced into the clutches of the fearsome Warlord Dementus and his Biker Horde. As she navigates the dangerous Wasteland and encounters power struggles between rival tyrants, including Immortan Joe, Furiosa embarks on a dangerous journey to reclaim her lost identity and forge her own destiny.

This includes co-writer Nico Lathouris, first assistant director PJ Voeten, and second unit director Guy Norris. The film boasts a talented lineup, with acclaimed cinematographer Simon Duggan capturing the desolate beauty of the post-apocalyptic landscape and composer Tom Holkenborg crafting a haunting score to complement the action-packed sequences. Notably, the production also sees the return of key collaborators from “Mad Max: Fury Road.” It includes production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt. This team earned Oscars for their contributions to the groundbreaking film. “Furiosa” promises to be a thrilling addition to the Mad Max universe.
