George Pérez, Iconic Comic Book Artist Passes Away

Iconic Comic Book artist George Pérez as sadly passed away at age 67 on May 6th 2022. George passed away peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side. Last year on November 27th, Pérez announced that he had Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer that was surgically inoperable. He was given an estimated life expectancy between 6 months to a year. George Perez was best known for his work on DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman as well as Marvel’s The Avengers and The Infinity Gauntlet.

JLA/Avengers which first debut in 2003 will have a special limited run reprint of 7000 issues this spring by the Hero Initiative in order to honor Pérez. The Hero Initiative is an organization that helps struggling comic creators in need.

His wife announced his passing on Facebook.
