Ghost Complex Wraps Production With Brenna D’Amico Leading Indie Drama

Indie drama Ghost Complex wraps filming with Popternative Productions.

Production has officially wrapped on Ghost Complex, an indie drama headlined by Brenna D’Amico (Descendants) and produced with the backing of Popternative Pictures.

A Unique Story of Grief and Memory

The film marks the feature debut of writer-director Jeremy Stewart, a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ghost Complex follows a college dropout who discovers that leaving campus and going home doesn’t guarantee freedom from the past — especially when the past refuses to let go.

Stewart described the project as “an independent drama that takes a comedic and unique look at grief.”

Cast Led by D’Amico

Brenna D’Amico not only stars but also produces alongside Stewart. Known to fans worldwide from Disney’s Descendants franchise, D’Amico reunites with Stewart after they collaborated on the short film First Time. She is joined by:

• Clayton Royal Johnson (Stranger Things)
• Courtney Dietz (My Dead Dad)
• Luke Barnett (Dark Winds)

Alyssa Brocato, cinematographer of the SXSW Audience Award–winning Pretty Problems, serves as director of photography.

Popternative’s Expanding Role

Popternative Pictures’ Peter Roumeliotis joins Katherine Myers and Caroline Kelly as producers alongside Stewart and D’Amico. The involvement of Popternative, best known for its entertainment platform highlighting film and television talent, underscores the growing crossover between media brands and independent film production.

Oklahoma Partnership

The production partnered with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office. Director Jeanette Stanton praised the project, stating, “We look forward to working with the filmmakers of Ghost Complex, and appreciate that they’ve chosen Oklahoma as their production destination where our skilled workforce, businesses, and communities are primed to set the scene for this unique story.”
