Gerard Butler leads a survival journey in Greenland 2: Migration.

The trailer for Greenland 2: Migration has arrived. It teases the next chapter of the survival thriller series starring Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin. The sequel is set to hit theaters on January 9, 2026.
Continuing the Story
The first Greenland film was released in 2020. It followed the Garrity family as they raced against time to reach safety when a comet threatened to destroy Earth. The movie found surprising success as both a disaster spectacle and a family drama. It earned praise for its emotional weight alongside the action.

Now, director Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) reunites with screenwriter Chris Sparling, joined by Mitchell LaFortune, to continue the saga. Greenland 2: Migration is based on characters created by Sparling.
The Plot
Set in the aftermath of the comet strike that devastated much of the planet, the sequel follows the Garrity family—John (Butler), Allison (Baccarin), and their son Nathan (Roman Griffin Davis)—as they emerge from the safety of their Greenland bunker. Facing a shattered and hostile world, they are forced to embark on a perilous journey across what remains of Earth in search of a new home.
Cast and Crew
Alongside Butler, Baccarin, and Davis, the cast includes Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie. Waugh directs with Sparling and LaFortune penning the screenplay.
Greenland 2: Migration opens exclusively in theaters on January 9, 2026, promising both high-stakes spectacle and an intimate look at survival in a broken world.
