Michael Myers Stalks Into Gaming With New Halloween Title

A Halloween survival horror game is set to launch this month.

IllFonic, the developer behind Friday the 13th: The Game and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, has announced Halloween. It is a new asymmetric stealth horror game inspired by John Carpenter’s 1978 classic. Co-published by Gun Interactive, in partnership with Compass International Pictures and Further Front, the game is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The reveal was made during Future Game Show Live at gamescom.

True to the Original Film

Players will step into the shoes of Michael Myers, terrorizing Haddonfield in a faithful recreation of Carpenter’s genre-defining slasher. The experience combines single-player and multiplayer modes, featuring a one-versus-many structure that emphasizes stealth, suspense, and survival.

As Michael Myers, players will stalk and eliminate citizens of Haddonfield one by one, cutting phone lines to isolate victims and instill fear in the dark. On the other side, civilians must rally together to warn townsfolk, contact authorities, and disrupt the killer’s murderous holiday.

Modes and Gameplay

Whether playing solo in story-driven missions, battling bots offline, or clashing with others online, Halloween rewards stealth, strategic decision-making, and creative survival tactics. Civilians must stay in the shadows and work as a team, while Myers uses fear, patience, and precision to strike.

Authentic Horror Atmosphere

IllFonic promises a faithful recreation of Haddonfield across multiple maps and iconic locations from the film. With a chilling score inspired by Carpenter’s legendary theme, the game aims to deliver the ultimate immersive slasher experience.
