Horizon: An American Saga is a two-part film.
Renowned filmmaker Kevin Costner, an Academy Award winner, has unveiled an exciting new trailer for his much-anticipated masterpiece, ‘Horizon: An American Saga.’ This epic film is a sweeping saga of the Civil War and the subsequent American West settlement. It is set to captivate audiences in two parts. The project is backed by New Line Cinema, with Costner not only directing but also taking on a leading role and co-writing alongside Jon Baird (‘The Explorers Guild’). Watch the trailer below!
‘Horizon: An American Saga’ is not just another historical drama; it’s a monumental cinematic experience. It pays homage to the legendary Westerns. The narrative unfolds during the turbulent years of the Civil War (1861-1865), vividly depicting the harsh realities of the era. The film’s unique perspective explores the intricate layers of America’s identity in the midst of conflict and transformation, as witnessed by a diverse cast of characters striving to understand the concept of a unified nation.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast.
Costner is joined by Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, and Giovanni Ribisi. The lineup also includes Abbey Lee, Will Patton, Jena Malone, Michael Rooker, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Jeff Fahey, Isabelle Fuhrman, Ella Hunt, David O’Hara, Owen Crow Shoe, Tatanka Means, Tim Guinee, Scott Haze, Tom Payne, Alejandro Edda, James Russo, Jon Beavers, Jaime Campbell Bower, and Michael Anganaro, among others.
Costner returns to the director’s chair for the first time since his critically acclaimed 2003 film “Open Range.” He also revisits Civil War-era America, a setting he explored in his 1990 directorial debut “Dances with Wolves,” which garnered seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Costner’s production company, Territory Pictures, produces “Horizon” with Howard Kaplan and Mark Gillard. Executive producers include Danny Peykoff, Robert Scannell, Armyan Bernstein, Charlie Lyons, Barry Berg, and Rod Lake. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film in theaters across North America. “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter One” is slated for release on June 28, 2024. It will be followed by “Chapter Two” on August 16, 2024.
