Michael Iskander returns as David for the final chapter of the biblical drama as Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios bring the trilogy to its conclusion.

Prime Video‘s biblical epic House of David is officially heading toward its final chapter. Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios have announced that production is underway in Greece on the third and final season of the acclaimed drama, bringing David’s extraordinary journey from an outcast shepherd to the future king of Israel to its conclusion.
Michael Iskander returns as David for the final installment of the trilogy, which will explore the dangerous road to the throne and the sacrifices required to fulfill his destiny.
The announcement follows the show’s third-season renewal in July, with the latest update confirming that the upcoming season will complete the story originally envisioned by creators Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn.
However, David’s greatest challenges are still ahead, and his path to becoming king will be anything but straightforward.
‘House of David’ Season 3 Takes David Into Exile Before the Throne
The final season follows David as his transformation from shepherd to warrior reaches its most important turning point.

Despite being chosen to become king, David finds himself living as a hunted outlaw. Forced into exile, he must seek refuge among his enemies while concealing his identity and navigating another dangerous deception.
The new chapter will examine the personal cost of fulfilling one’s destiny, exploring the betrayals, sacrifices, and difficult decisions that shape David before he can finally claim the throne.
Rather than focusing solely on his rise to power, the concluding season will explore what David must endure and the parts of himself he must leave behind before becoming king.
For executive producers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, the third season represents the culmination of the story they set out to tell from the beginning.
“We’re incredibly grateful to be back in Greece with the cast and crew who’ve given everything to this story,” Erwin and Gunn said in a joint statement.
The filmmakers explained that the final season will complete their original vision for David’s journey and expressed their appreciation for their creative partners at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.
They also hope audiences will recognize how dramatically David has evolved by the time his journey reaches the throne.
Michael Iskander Reflects on Playing David in the Final Season
For Michael Iskander, portraying David has become a defining experience that has allowed him to grow alongside the character.
“Playing David has changed my life in ways I never could have anticipated when we began this journey,” Iskander said.
The actor reflected on the opportunity to explore David’s courage, ambition, imperfections, and the increasingly difficult choices that come with his destiny.
Iskander also acknowledged that knowing the series is entering its final season has made the experience particularly meaningful.
He expressed gratitude for being trusted with the role and shared his excitement for audiences to witness David’s transformation in the concluding chapter.
His character’s evolution has been central to the series since its beginning, with the once-overlooked shepherd navigating a world of royal power, political conflict, war and personal sacrifice.
The upcoming season will bring those experiences together as David prepares to fulfill the destiny that has shaped his entire journey.
Who Is Returning for ‘House of David’ Season 3?
Alongside Iskander, the returning cast includes Ali Suliman as King Saul and Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam.
The ensemble also features Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Aury Alby and Alexander Uloom.
House of David comes from Wonder Project’s Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, who also serve as executive producers alongside Justin Rosenblatt, Gavin J. Behrman, Adam Abel, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev and Erik Mountain.
Rosenblatt serves as executive in charge of production for Wonder Project, while The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins is a shareholder and special advisor to the company.
The series is produced by Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts, alongside Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Television.
Greece has played an important role in bringing the series to life, with previous seasons using the country’s landscapes and production facilities to recreate the biblical world. The final season continues that production tradition.
When Will ‘House of David’ Season 3 Premiere?
Amazon MGM Studios and Wonder Project have not announced a premiere date for the third and final season.
With production now underway, audiences can revisit David’s journey before the trilogy reaches its conclusion.
The first two seasons of House of David are currently available to stream with a Prime Video membership. Both seasons are also accessible through the Wonder Project subscription offering on Prime Video in the United States.
The third season will complete the series’ central story, bringing David’s transformation from an unlikely shepherd to the king of Israel full circle.
