The second season of the popular HBO Original drama series “House of the Dragon” will premiere on Sunday, June 16. The show will air from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max. With eight thrilling episodes, fans can expect an immersive dive into the intricate world of Westeros. Watch the trailer below!

The show is set against a looming civil war in Westero.

The Green and Black Councils are in a fierce battle for supremacy. Each group vies to support their claimants to the Iron Throne, King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra. As tensions escalate and loyalties are tested, viewers around the globe will “Choose Your Side” in the struggle for House Targaryen’s dominance as the realm teeters on the brink of chaos in season two.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series transports viewers 200 years back in time. It offers a gripping portrayal of the legendary House Targaryen long before the events chronicled in “Game of Thrones.”

The cast from the first season returns for the second season. It includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham. Additionally, new faces will be joining the ensemble, including Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.

With a mix of seasoned performers and fresh talent, “House of the Dragon” promises an exhilarating journey through the tumultuous corridors of power, betrayal, and ambition that define the world of Westeros. Game of Thrones fans, mark your calendars for June 16 as the saga unfolds on HBO and Max.
