This stunning reimagining brings the Isle of Berk and its beloved Vikings and dragons to life like never before. Oscar nominee Dean DeBlois, the creative mind behind the original animated trilogy, directs this fresh take on the franchise. It blends jaw-dropping visual effects with the same heartwarming story that’s captivated audiences for years.

Vikings, Dragons, and an All-New How To Train Your Dragon Cast

On the Isle of Berk, Vikings and dragons have fought for generations. However, young Hiccup (Mason Thames) dares to believe there’s another way. With the help of the feared dragon Toothless and his fearless friend Astrid (Nico Parker), Hiccup sets out to prove that friendship is stronger than fear — even when an ancient evil threatens their world.

Gerard Butler reprises his role as Chief Stoick the Vast. He is joined by franchise newcomers including Nick Frost, Gabriel Howell, Julian Dennison, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Peter Serafinowicz, and more. The cast steps into the boots of Vikings and the wings of dragons for a truly epic adventure.

More Than 75 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen Extras

If you can’t get enough of Berk, the home release is packed with over 75 minutes of bonus content. Deleted scenes with introductions by DeBlois, a hilarious gag reel, and several behind-the-scenes vignettes peel back the curtain on what it took to bring these mythical creatures and the Viking village to life in live action.

Fans will see how the detailed sets were built, the technology behind the life-like dragons, and the transformations the cast underwent to truly become Berk’s Vikings. You’ll even get to watch Mason Thames perform the full Forbidden Friendship sequence with a puppeteer. You will also get an early look at Hiccup’s first thrilling flight with Toothless in the “Test Drive” featurette.
