Hulu’s comedy series Chad Powers set for Fall 2025 premiere.
Hulu has announced that its upcoming half-hour comedy series, Chad Powers, will premiere in fall 2025. The series is created by Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and Michael Waldron (Loki). They both serve as co-creators and executive producers. NFL legend Eli Manning is also an executive producer. He works alongside his brother, Peyton Manning. The project is produced in collaboration with Omaha Productions, ESPN, and 20th Television.
Chad Powers follows the story of Russ Holliday, a star quarterback whose college football career is derailed by his own bad behavior. Russ seeks redemption and a fresh start. He adopts the alias “Chad Powers.” He joins a struggling Southern football team as a walk-on. Disguised as the easygoing and talented Chad, he tries to rebuild his career. He does this while navigating the challenges of a small-town football culture.
The series is based on a popular sketch.
It was originally produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions for Eli’s Places on ESPN+. Powell, who also stars in the lead role, co-wrote the pilot with Waldron and will executive produce under his Barnstorm Productions banner. The cast features Perry Mattfeld (In the Dark) as Ricky, Quentin Plair (Welcome to Chippendales) as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett (The Newsroom) as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) as Danny, and Steve Zahn (White Lotus) as Jake Hudson.
In addition to Powell and Waldron, the creative team includes Luvh Rakhe (Mythic Quest) as an executive producer, and Tony Yacenda (American Vandal), who will direct and executive produce. Adam Fasullo and Jamie Horowitz will also produce under Anomaly Pictures, adding to the lineup of industry heavyweights behind the show.
With a star-studded cast and a blend of sports and comedy, Chad Powers aims to bring the humor and heart of small-town football to streaming audiences. Fans of the original sketch and newcomers alike can look forward to seeing the series exclusively on Hulu in 2025.
