An all-new teaser trailer and first look at Ice Age: Boiling Point has arrived.
The next chapter in the Ice Age franchise brings back Manny, Diego, Sid, Buck, Ellie, Scrat, Crash, Eddie, and Baby Scrat for a new prehistoric adventure. The film releases exclusively in theaters Feb. 5, 2027.
What Is Ice Age: Boiling Point About?
Ice Age: Boiling Point follows Manny, voiced by Ray Romano; Diego, voiced by Denis Leary; Sid, voiced by John Leguizamo; Buck, voiced by Simon Pegg; and Ellie, voiced by Queen Latifah.
The teaser trailer shows the herd blasting out of a volcano and entering a dinosaur-and-lava-filled adventure. The story takes the characters into never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.
Crash, Eddie, Scrat, and Baby Scrat also appear in the new film.
Scrat And Baby Scrat Return
Scrat first appeared in Ice Age in 2002. The character became known for his pursuit of an acorn across the franchise’s films and shorts. His sequences have often played separately from the main herd storyline while connecting to the franchise’s larger prehistoric setting.
Baby Scrat also appears in the new film. The character previously appeared in Ice Age: Scrat Tales, a series of animated shorts released on Disney+ in 2022.
The new teaser confirms both characters are part of the Ice Age: Boiling Point adventure.
Cast And Creative Team
Ray Romano returns as Manny. Denis Leary returns as Diego. John Leguizamo returns as Sid. Simon Pegg returns as Buck. Queen Latifah returns as Ellie.
Ice Age: Boiling Point is directed by John Donkin, who previously directed The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. The film is produced by Lori Forte, whose franchise credits include Ice Age and Ice Age: Collision Course.
A Look Back At The Franchise
The Ice Age franchise began in 2002 with Ice Age. The film introduced Manny, Sid, and Diego during a prehistoric migration. The story followed the trio as they tried to return a human baby to its family.
The franchise continued with Ice Age: The Meltdown in 2006, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 2009, Ice Age: Continental Drift in 2012, and Ice Age: Collision Course in 2016.
The series also expanded with shorts, television specials, and streaming projects. Scrat appeared throughout the franchise, while Ellie, Crash, Eddie, and Buck were introduced in later installments.
Boiling Point continues the franchise’s theatrical film series with a new story set in the Lost World.
