Jim Carrey reprised his Cable Guy character in a Super Bowl ad for Verizon. The Cable Guy released in 1996 had Jim Carrey play Chip Douglas, a cable guy who yearns to have a person to call his “buddy.” The film also starred Matthew Broderick, Leslie Mann, and George Segal. It was directed by Ben Stiller and opened up with mixed reactions due to its darker tone. Watch the commercial below.
