The Jurassic World franchise is set to evolve once again with Jurassic World: Rebirth, a bold new chapter helmed by director Gareth Edwards of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Slated for release on July 2, 2025, the epic action-adventure film boasts a star-studded cast led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, promising a thrilling new direction for the prehistoric saga.
Set five years after Dominion.
the film explores a world where dinosaurs struggle to survive in isolated tropical environments resembling their prehistoric habitats. As humanity seeks to harness the creatures’ genetic material for groundbreaking medical advancements, a high-stakes mission unfolds to secure DNA samples from three of the largest dinosaurs roaming land, sea, and sky.
Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert leading a specialized team on this perilous quest. Mahershala Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s trusted team leader, while Bailey portrays Dr. Henry Loomis, a brilliant paleontologist. Their mission takes a dramatic turn. They encounter a shipwrecked family led by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s Reuben Delgado. His vacation took a deadly detour after he encountered aggressive marine dinosaurs. Together, they uncover a long-buried secret that could alter the course of human and dinosaur coexistence forever.
Rupert Friend joins the ensemble cast as a calculating pharmaceutical executive. Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda play Delgado’s stranded family members. Ed Skrein, Philippine Velge, and Bechir Sylvain are part of the competing expedition teams.
Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp wrote the screenplay. Longtime Jurassic producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are at the helm. The film promises to deliver a visually stunning and adrenaline-fueled experience. Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg returns as an executive producer, ensuring the franchise’s legacy continues to thrive.
