Lance Reddick Shines as Lex Luthor in ‘Kite Man: Hell Yeah!’ – Review

Kite Man: Hell Yeah! is a soaring success in adult animation.

When I found out that the late Lance Reddick would be appearing in “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” and voicing Lex Luthor, I was ecstatic. I spoke with Reddick last year and learned how much of a Batman fan he was, and he had a particular interest in playing Black Mask. His casting as Lex Luthor is perfect. The moment the series opens with his voice, I got goosebumps. It’s such a powerful entry and sets a great tone for the series.

“Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” is a blast from start to finish. Even though I still need to fully catch up with the Harley Quinn series, I found myself immediately engrossed in Kite Man’s drama and antics. The plot is fantastic, and without giving too much away, let’s say the twists and turns are highly entertaining. The voice cast is stellar, and the characters are as fun and dynamic as you’d expect from a Batman universe series. Bane steals the show, proving to be an unforgettable presence.

The cast lineup is impressive, featuring Matt Oberg as Kite Man, Stephanie Hsu as Golden Glider, James Adomian as Bane, Natasia Demetriou as Malice, Janelle James as Queen of Fables, Jonathan Banks as Noonan, Keith David as Darkseid, Michael Imperioli as Joe/Moe Dubelz, Rory Scovel as Gus the Goon, Lance Reddick as Lex Luthor, and Judith Light as Helen Villigan.

The “Cheers” aspect of the show is brilliant. Kite Man and Golden Glider’s decision to open a bar in the shadow of Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom provides endless opportunities for hilarity and chaos. The idea of serving drinks to some of Gotham’s most dangerous rogues is as thrilling as it is absurd. It’s a must-watch for the Harley Quinn series fans and anyone who appreciates high-quality adult animation comedy.

Verdict

I give “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!” 5 out of 5 stars. Its blend of humor, engaging plotlines, and phenomenal voice acting makes it a standout addition to the Max Original lineup. Don’t miss out on this fantastic series on MAX.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
