The late Lance Reddick spoke to us about playing Zeus during John Wick: Chapter 4.
The Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” concluded its first season with a captivating finale. It featured the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, the king of the gods. In an exclusive interview, the esteemed actor revealed his initial shock upon receiving the offer. “The offer was a shock,” Reddick admitted. “Also, at the time that I was offered the role, I had no idea about the books. So I said, ‘Oh, Percy Jackson is some kid’s show.’ And then I found out it almost seems like Harry Potter.”
His perception quickly shifted as he delved deeper into the world of Percy Jackson. “I mean, it’s just huge,” Reddick remarked, highlighting the franchise’s widespread appeal. “The role that I shot was so beautifully theatrical.” His preparation for the role led him down the captivating path of Greek mythology. “And then the things that I discovered as I just kind of tried to brush up on my Greek mythology and Zeus in particular was really fascinating.”
