Luc Besson’s Dracula Now Streaming on Paramount+ for Halloween

Caleb Landry Jones stars as the legendary vampire opposite Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bleu in a gothic reimagining of Bram Stoker’s classic novel.

Luc Besson’s Dracula has officially arrived on Paramount+, bringing a blood-soaked reimagining of Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire to streaming just in time for Halloween. The gothic horror fantasy, starring Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, and Zoë Bleu, makes its streaming debut Monday, October 12, as part of the platform’s annual Peak Screaming collection.

Written and directed by Besson, best known for The Fifth Element, Léon: The Professional and Lucy, the film revisits one of literature’s most recognizable monsters through a story of forbidden love, devastating loss and supernatural obsession.

Rather than focusing entirely on Dracula’s thirst for blood, Besson places the vampire’s tragic romance at the center of his adaptation. The result blends gothic horror, dark fantasy and romance as an immortal prince searches across centuries for the woman he lost.

Luc Besson Reimagines Dracula as a Tragic Love Story

Set against the backdrop of the 15th century, Dracula follows a powerful prince, played by Caleb Landry Jones, whose life changes forever after witnessing the brutal murder of his beloved wife, portrayed by Zoë Bleu.

Overcome with grief and anger, the prince turns against God, renouncing his faith and condemning heaven for allowing his wife to die.

His defiance comes with a terrifying price.

Cursed with eternal life, the prince transforms into Dracula, an immortal warlord condemned to wander through the centuries. However, his existence becomes driven by something far more personal than a desire for power or destruction.

Dracula becomes obsessed with finding a way to reunite with his lost love, regardless of the bloodshed and suffering left behind.

Christoph Waltz Becomes Dracula’s Relentless Hunter

As Dracula moves closer to reclaiming the woman he believes fate stole from him, a determined priest, played by Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz, emerges as his greatest threat.

Sworn to end Dracula’s immortal reign, the priest pursues the vampire in a confrontation that places faith, love, and damnation on a collision course.

The conflict introduces a spiritual dimension to the familiar vampire mythology. Dracula’s war against heaven becomes just as important as the physical danger he represents.

Besson explores the consequences of a love powerful enough to survive centuries while questioning what happens when devotion turns into an obsession that threatens everyone caught in its path.

Caleb Landry Jones Leads the Dracula Cast

Caleb Landry Jones takes on the title role, continuing his collaboration with Besson following the filmmaker’s 2023 thriller DogMan.

Jones, whose previous credits include Get Out, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and X-Men: First Class, portrays the vampire as both a supernatural threat and a tragic figure unable to escape his past.

Zoë Bleu plays the woman at the center of Dracula’s centuries-long obsession, while Christoph Waltz brings his commanding screen presence to the role of the priest determined to destroy him.

A Gothic Ensemble Brings Bram Stoker’s World to Life

The supporting cast includes Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing), Ewens Abid, David Shields and Guillaume de Tonquédec.

Besson draws inspiration from Bram Stoker’s influential 1897 novel, which helped establish the modern vampire mythology that continues to shape horror films, television and popular culture.

Although audiences have seen numerous versions of the Count over the decades, this adaptation emphasizes the emotional tragedy behind the monster.

Its combination of elaborate period settings, supernatural horror, and gothic romance offers another interpretation of the classic story while preserving Dracula’s reputation as one of fiction’s most enduring villains.

Dracula Joins Paramount+ Peak Screaming Collection

The arrival of Dracula expands Paramount+’s Peak Screaming programming, the streaming service’s seasonal collection dedicated to horror entertainment throughout October.

The Halloween lineup brings together terrifying movies, recognizable horror franchises, and supernatural stories for audiences looking to celebrate spooky season.

Besson’s adaptation adds a romantic gothic fantasy to the collection, offering a different kind of vampire story alongside more traditional horror offerings.

For viewers who missed the film during its theatrical release, the Paramount+ debut provides another opportunity to experience Besson’s interpretation of Dracula and the tragic romance driving his immortal existence.

With Halloween approaching, the arrival gives horror fans another film to add to their seasonal watchlists.

DRACULA is now streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
