Disney Announces Release Dates For Toy Story 5, Mandalorian & Grogu, and More

Disney will have their most anticipated film release in 2025/2026.

Disney has set the stage for an exciting upcoming release lineup, with dates for some highly anticipated films. Among the buzz-worthy announcements are the return of beloved franchises like “Toy Story” and “Tron,” along with the expansion of the cinematic universe of “The Mandalorian,” featuring everyone’s favorite duo, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Disney also brings the animated hit “Moana” to life in a live-action adaptation.

First up is “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” slated for a theatrical release on May 22, 2026. Following the success of its original series, this film promises to delve deeper into the adventures of the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter and his adorable companion, Grogu, as they navigate the galaxy’s outer reaches. Following the groundbreaking success of the original 1982 film and its acclaimed 2010 sequel, “TRON: Legacy,” this new chapter follows the journey of Ares, a sophisticated Program from the digital world, venturing into reality on a perilous mission that explores themes of technology and identity. With a star-studded cast including Jared Leto, Greta Lee, and Evan Peters, and directed by Joachim Rønning of “Pirates of the Caribbean” fame, “Ares” aims to continue the franchise’s legacy while pushing the boundaries of design, technology, and storytelling.

Rounding out the lineup is the live-action adaptation of the beloved animated film “Moana,” set to premiere on July 10, 2206. The new film will celebrate Pacific Islander culture, traditions, and communities through the perspective of a young woman seeking to forge her own path, echoing Moana’s journey of self-discovery and her bond with the demigod Maui.
