Yelena Belova leads a misfit team in Marvel’s latest ensemble film, Thunderbolts.
Marvel Studios has debuted the first teaser for Thunderbolts. This irreverent team-up movie assembles some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most overlooked characters. The film sees Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) as a depressed assassin leading an unlikely band of misfits. She’s joined by Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). These familiar faces will return alongside a few new characters whose identities have yet to be revealed.
Jake Schreier, known for his indie film background, directs the project. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is on board again as a producer. Executive producers for Thunderbolts include Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez, and Scarlett Johansson. Watch the trailer below!
The newly released poster and trailer highlight the film’s darker, more comedic tone, with action sequences hinting at the dysfunction within this ragtag team of anti-heroes. While many of these characters have been previously seen in supporting roles across the MCU, Thunderbolts marks the first time they take center stage.
Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts will hit U.S. theaters on May 2, 2025, giving fans plenty of time to anticipate the return of some of the MCU’s more complex and controversial figures.
