David Harbour premieres Thunderbolts trailer at Brazil D23.

At the first-ever Brazil D23 fan event today, Marvel Studios surprised fans with a special extended look at the upcoming film Thunderbolts, set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025. David Harbour reprises his role as Red Guardian. He introduced the footage. This ignited excitement among Brazilian fans. They got an early glimpse of the highly anticipated anti-hero team-up.
Marvel Studios presents Thunderbolts as a unique addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, blending dark humor and unexpected characters. This ensemble film follows Yelena Belova, the troubled assassin portrayed by Florence Pugh, who reluctantly leads an unconventional team of misfits and outcasts. Described by insiders as the MCU’s “least anticipated band of misfits,” the Thunderbolts bring together an unpredictable roster for an irreverent take on superhero alliances.
Alongside Pugh and Harbour, the cast includes MCU regulars and new faces: Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Edward Pierce add fresh dynamics. Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns as the enigmatic Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, whose mysterious motives have drawn fan interest.

Indie filmmaker Jake Schreier directs the film.
Thunderbolts breaks away from Marvel’s typical hero story. It explores complex, flawed characters. The world doesn’t always see them as heroes. Kevin Feige produces the film, with Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serving as executive producers. Thunderbolts taps into the spirit of ensemble anti-hero stories, offering a fresh perspective within the Marvel universe. The special look previewed at Brazil D23 showed fans they can expect a blend of humor, gritty action, and unlikely camaraderie as the Thunderbolts face challenges that may prove to be their redemption—or their undoing.
