Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 Lands at Sphere in Historic Netflix Stream

A historic rematch headlines Netflix’s global stage with Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will step back into the ring for a professional rematch on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The blockbuster event will stream live globally on Netflix at no additional cost to its more than 325 million subscribers.

The bout marks the first-ever professional boxing match held at Sphere, making it a milestone for both the sport and the city of Las Vegas. Organizers plan to use the venue’s advanced immersive technology to create a viewing experience unlike anything seen before in boxing.

Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) officially comes out of retirement for the showdown against Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs). The undefeated former champion recently announced his return through a multi-fight partnership with CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS.

Revisiting the “Fight of the Century”

The rematch follows their 2015 clash, billed as the “Fight of the Century.” That event shattered records across the board. It generated 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and produced a $72 million live gate at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The fight remains the richest in boxing history.

More than a decade later, the two icons return to settle unfinished business on what is being described as the world’s most technologically advanced stage.

Pacquiao said, “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.”

Mayweather added, “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”

Netflix Doubles Down on Live Boxing

Gabe Spitzer, Vice President of Sports at Netflix, called the event a full-circle moment. He previously spent time in both fighters’ camps earlier in his career and described them as two of the hardest workers in boxing.

“Bringing this rematch to Netflix is a massive full-circle moment,” Spitzer said. “We’re thrilled to combine their storied rivalry with the immersive technology of Sphere to deliver a landmark sporting event to our members worldwide.”

The event will be organized and produced by EverWonder Studio, Hidden Empire, and Limitless X Holdings. It will be promoted by Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Mayweather Promotions in partnership with CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS.

Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, described the fight as unfinished business. He noted that their first meeting generated more than $600 million in global revenue and became the highest-grossing pay-per-view in boxing history. He said the rematch will command a worldwide audience and become the most-watched boxing event in Netflix Sports history.

A New Era for the Sport

The Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch continues Netflix’s rapid expansion into live sports. The platform previously streamed Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which drew 108 million live global viewers and became the most-streamed sporting event in history. Taylor-Serrano 3 at Madison Square Garden became the most-watched professional women’s sporting event of 2025 in the United States. The Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford championship bout attracted 41.4 million viewers.

Netflix will also stream Tyson Fury’s return against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11, marking its first live event broadcast from the United Kingdom. Netflix’s push into combat sports will also include a high-profile women’s showdown between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, further cementing the platform’s commitment to major fight events across disciplines.

Full details regarding the undercard and ticket availability for the Sphere event will be announced in the coming weeks. For now, boxing fans can circle Sept. 19 as two legends prepare to meet again on one of the biggest stages the sport has ever seen.
