Monsterverse continues to grow as Monarch gets a season 2.

Apple TV+ has announced the renewal of its popular series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” for a second season. The show is produced by Legendary Entertainment. Since its premiere, it has been a hit with global audiences. Its success it lead to a multi-series deal between Apple TV+ and Legendary. This deal includes the continuation of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” There are also plans for several spin-off series set in the same universe.
Morgan Wandell, head of international development for Apple TV+, expressed excitement about the show’s impact. She attributed its success to the talented cast and creative team led by Chris, Matt, Kurt, and Wyatt. Wandell also hinted at the expansion of the Monsterverse. She promises more excitement in season two and the chance to join epic new adventures with the upcoming spin-offs. “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” follows two siblings as they uncover their family’s connection to the mysterious Monarch organization. This leads them into a world of monsters and revealing buried secrets spanning three generations. The series delves into the 1950s and the present day and promises to deliver gripping drama and explore the repercussions of earth-shattering events.
Legendary’s Monsterverse has grown into a vast universe of cross-platform experiences.
It includes blockbuster films such as “Godzilla” (2014), “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019), and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021). The success of these films, coupled with the groundbreaking “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” highlights the Monsterverse’s status as a global phenomenon, with over $2 billion in box office revenue and a diverse range of multimedia offerings.
Executive producers Chris Black and Matt Fraction and a talented team including Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville, and Jen Roskind will lead the upcoming season. Additionally, the involvement of Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita from Toho Co., Ltd. underscores the series’ ties to the Godzilla franchise, with Toho licensing the rights to Legendary for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.”
