Henrie is known for his work on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” With this film, he brings a nostalgic touch to the film. He aims to remind audiences of their childhood summers. “Monster Summer is that first summer you grew up,” Henrie said. “It’s the summer of best friends and first kisses. It’s when you really noticed music for the first time, wore your bathing suit all day long, got up early – on purpose – and stayed gone until after dark.” The movie’s plot centers on the classic themes of friendship and growing up. “Friends were everything, and you learned how to have an argument and not be a fight,”

Henrie added. “Lots of sugar, rode your bike a thousand miles, knew where every pool was, and every day was a new adventure. It was the summer when something scary happened that made us more aware that the world was bigger and sometimes more dangerous than our neighborhood.”

Mason Thames, who plays Noah, is no newcomer to intense roles.
Thames earned praise for his role in the horror film “Black Phone” and is set to star as Hiccup in the live-action adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon.” His talent in portraying complex emotions makes him a perfect fit for the adventurous and heartfelt “Monster Summer.” Mel Gibson, who plays the retired detective, brings decades of experience to the film. With a career spanning over four decades, Gibson is known for his roles in “Braveheart,” “Lethal Weapon,” and “Mad Max.” His portrayal of the seasoned detective adds depth to the film’s dynamic cast.
“Monster Summer” promises to be a nostalgic ride filled with excitement and heartfelt moments. It will be released in theaters on October 4th.
