Seven Cemeteries is now in theaters, On Digital, and On Demand.

Efren Ramirez is best known for his role as Pedro in the cult classic Napoleon Dynamite. He returns to our screens in the campy new horror film Seven Cemeteries. John Gulager directs the movie. This latest project pairs him with veteran actor Danny Trejo, promising a captivating blend of horror and dark humor.
In Seven Cemeteries, Trejo plays a recent parolee. He enlists the help of a Mexican witch. They work together to resurrect his old gang. Together, they must confront a ruthless drug lord threatening a woman’s ranch. The film also stars Sal Lopez, Samantha Ashley, Vincent M. Ward, Lew Temple, Richard Esteras, and Maria Canals-Barrera and features a script penned by Joel Soisson and Gulager.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Ramirez about the film. We had a lot of fun discussing his character’s looks and the dynamics of working with Trejo. Ramirez also took a moment to reflect on his career, particularly the enduring success of Napoleon Dynamite. Watch my full interview with Efren Ramirez below!
Seven Cemeteries makes for a great double feature with Satanic Hispanics, another horror flick that explores themes of culture and identity with Ramirez. Both films provide a unique take on horror while infusing it with rich cultural narratives. For those looking to experience a mix of suspense and humor, Seven Cemeteries is now playing in theaters. You can also watch it on digital and demand platforms.
