OH. WHAT. FUN. brings holiday chaos and heart to Prime Video this December
Acclaimed director Michael Showalter, known for The Big Sick, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and The Idea of You, is back with a new holiday comedy that flips the traditional Christmas movie formula. Oh. What. Fun. celebrates the true unsung heroes of the season — moms — with warmth, humor, and just the right dose of festive chaos.
The film stars the legendary Michelle Pfeiffer as Claire Clauster, the matriarch who keeps her quirky, lovable family glued together each Christmas. After years of cooking, cleaning, and keeping traditions alive, one small mistake leaves her home alone. Fed up and finally ready to do something for herself, Claire embarks on an unexpected adventure that reminds her — and her family — what the holidays are really about.
An All-Star Cast for All Generations
The ensemble cast includes Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary, Dominic Sessa, Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen. The film’s mix of seasoned and emerging talent ensures something for everyone — from sharp family banter to heartfelt holiday spirit.
Gwen Stefani Adds Music Magic
Adding even more sparkle to the season, GRAMMY Award winner Gwen Stefani contributes an original song titled “Shake The Snow Globe (from Oh. What. Fun.)” (Amazon Music Original). Fans can stream the track now on Amazon Music, with an exclusive music video directed by Mike Ho available on the Amazon Music app.
“This is the first time I’ve ever been asked to write a song for a specific moment in a film,” Stefani shared. “It made me nervous, excited, and inspired to take on the challenge of creating a Christmas song that feels up-tempo, nostalgic, and reflects the sentiment of the movie, Oh. What. Fun.”
