Paramount+ Announces Feature-Length Documentary – Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape from Now

Ozzy Osbourne faces his biggest fight yet in new Paramount+ doc.

Paramount+ has announced the production of OZZY OSBOURNE: NO ESCAPE FROM NOW, a new feature-length documentary offering an intimate look at the legendary rock star’s personal and professional struggles in recent years. The film, produced by Echo Velvet in partnership with the Osbourne family and MTV Entertainment Studios, is currently in production and set to premiere on Paramount+ later this year.

The documentary provides a deeply personal portrait of Ozzy Osbourne, showcasing his resilience in the face of devastating setbacks following his 2019 fall. The incident forced the iconic singer to confront his own mortality and question whether he could ever return to the stage for one final performance. The film also delves into his battle with Parkinson’s disease and the central role music continues to play in his life.

“The last six years have been full of some of the worst times I’ve been through. There’s been times when I thought my number was up,” Osbourne said. “But making music and making two albums saved me. I’d have gone nuts without music.”

Directed by BAFTA Award winner Tania Alexander.

OZZY OSBOURNE: NO ESCAPE FROM NOW began filming in early 2022 during the recording sessions for Osbourne’s 13th studio album, Patient Number 9, which went on to win two GRAMMY Awards. Filming will continue through summer 2025 as Osbourne prepares for a highly anticipated final performance with his Black Sabbath bandmates at a sold-out, all-star celebration at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5.

“My fans have supported me for so many years, and I really want to thank them and say a proper goodbye to them. That is what the Villa Park show is about,” Osbourne added.

The documentary features exclusive access to Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne, and their children.

Also featured is a lineup of key contributors who have played significant roles in his life and career. Interviews include Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Billy Idol, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, producer Andrew Watt, and musician Billy Morrison.

“This film is an honest account of what has happened to Ozzy during the last few years,” said Sharon Osbourne. “It shows how hard things have been for him and the courage he has shown while dealing with a number of serious health issues, including Parkinson’s. It’s about the reality of his life now. We have worked with a production team we trust and have allowed them the freedom to tell the story openly. We hope that story will inspire people who are facing similar issues.”

OZZY OSBOURNE: NO ESCAPE FROM NOW promises to be a revealing and emotional journey, shedding light on the resilience, humor, and passion that continue to define the Prince of Darkness, even as he faces some of the greatest challenges of his life.
