Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer blasts in with DCU cameos and new heroes.

Get ready, Peacemaker fans—Season 2 is officially locked, loaded, and firing straight into the DC Universe (DCU)! The highly anticipated second season of the Max Original series Peacemaker, created by James Gunn and starring John Cena, just dropped its first trailer—and it’s bringing in some big names and even bigger chaos. Season 2 officially premieres Thursday, August 21 at 9PM ET/PT on Max; this time, it’s fully cannon to the DCU.
John Cena is back as Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, the peace-at-all-costs antihero we love (and sometimes cringe at). Season 2 finds Chris struggling to make sense of his past while continuing to brutally stomp out evil with his own brand of explosive justice.
Returning cast members include Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Steve Agee as Economos, and even Robert Patrick, who returns in some capacity despite his Season 1 fate.

But the big surprise? New DCU heavy-hitters that will debut in Superman will appear:
- Nathan Fillion suits up as Guy Gardner, a brash and cocky version of Green Lantern that only he could pull off.
- Isabela Merced brings wings and fury as Kendra Saunders, aka Hawkgirl.
- And Sean Gunn—yes, James Gunn’s brother—is stepping into the role of Maxwell Lord, the manipulative mastermind last seen (with a very different vibe) in Wonder Woman 1984 played by Pedro Pascal.

The trailer teases a wild, no-holds-barred ride filled with bloody action, bizarre humor, and deep-cut DCU connections that will have fans pause and screenshotting like crazy. With James Gunn at the helm—writing all eight episodes and directing three, including the premiere—expect that signature mix of irreverence, heart, and pure comic-book mayhem.
New cast members also include Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows, adding even more firepower to a show that was already exploding with personality.

With Peacemaker now officially part of the rebooted DCU timeline, this season is more than just a follow-up—it’s a launching pad for what’s to come under Gunn’s leadership at DC Studios.
Mark your calendars. Suit up. And maybe hide your pet eagle. Peacemaker Season 2 starts August 21 on Max.
