Inside Win or Lose, Pixar’s first original series, hits Disney+.

Pixar Animation Studios is set to debut its first-ever original series, Win or Lose, exclusively on Disney+ on Feb. 19. The innovative series tells the interconnected stories of eight characters as they prepare for a pivotal championship softball game. From the anxious players and their overbearing parents to a lovestruck umpire, the show explores a wide range of perspectives leading up to the big event.

Carrie Hobson, who co-wrote, directed, and executive produced the series with Michael Yates, drew inspiration from her own softball experiences. “I played softball growing up,” said Hobson. “Fast-pitch softball felt like the perfect backdrop for the show. Sports can bring out the best and worst in people—someone calm can lose their temper in a second. Winning and losing have no real consequences, yet they feel like everything. It was the best arena for the themes we wanted to explore.”
The series’ unique narrative structure grew from Hobson and Yates’ time as officemates while working on Toy Story 4. “We’d often have completely different reactions to the same meetings,” said Yates. “It made us realize how our personal experiences shape our perceptions. That’s the heart of this series—how one event can look entirely different depending on who’s telling the story.”

Win or Lose boasts a star-studded voice cast, including Will Forte, Rosa Salazar, Lil Rel Howery, Rhea Seehorn, and Melissa Villaseñor. David Lally produces the series and features music from renowned composer Ramin Djawadi and original songs by CAMPFIRE and Djawadi.
The animation promises to be as innovative as the storytelling.
Each episode offers a distinct visual style to reflect its narrator’s personality and perspective. Pixar fans can expect a mix of humor, heart, and relatable moments in a series highlighting the triumphs and trials of sports and life.

Win or Lose is poised to deliver an emotional and entertaining look at teamwork, individuality, and the moments that define us
