Explore Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends.

Nintendo has dropped a brand-new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, giving fans a deeper look at the highly anticipated return to Lumiose City. The game will launch worldwide on Oct. 16 for both the Nintendo Switch and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2.
A New Beginning in Lumiose City
Players will begin their journey by choosing one of three partner Pokémon: Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. Unlike past Pokémon RPGs, Z-A introduces real-time battles with catching, battling, and Mega Evolution all seamlessly integrated for the first time. Trainers can climb the ranks of the competitive Z-A Royale and team up with friends locally or online in free-for-all battles with up to three other players.

Exploring the Heart of Kalos in Pokémon Legends
The bustling Lumiose City serves as both a home base and a battleground. Players can settle into Hotel Z, run by the enigmatic AZ, or spend time in stylish boutiques, cafés, and photo spots scattered across town. Prism Tower looms at the center as the city’s most iconic landmark. Along the way, Trainers will meet new characters, including Urbain, Taunie, and Quasartico Inc.’s CEO Jett, while helping citizens in need to earn rewards and strengthen their journey.
Two Editions, One Pokémon Adventure
The game will be released in two versions: Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Nintendo Switch and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Players who start on Switch can purchase an upgrade pack to access next-gen enhancements. Nintendo will also release a special Switch 2 bundle, which includes a system and a full game download of the upgraded edition. This bundle is available now for pre-purchase through the My Nintendo Store.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Switch 2 Edition both launch Oct. 16.
