Mario Kart headlines Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer.
Nintendo has officially unveiled the highly anticipated successor to its popular console, the Nintendo Switch. Introducing the Nintendo Switch 2, the new hybrid console is set to launch in 2025. While no pricing details have been revealed yet, the announcement has gamers buzzing with excitement, especially after the reveal trailer dropped, showcasing its innovative features and an all-new Mario Kart game.
The Nintendo Switch 2 continues the hybrid tradition, allowing players to enjoy their favorite games both on the go and at home. Like its predecessor, it can switch seamlessly between portable mode and TV mode with the use of a dock. A standout upgrade is the new magnetic attachment system for the Joy-Con controllers, which promises enhanced stability and ease of use. Other notable improvements include a U-shaped kickstand for better portability, a second USB-C port for expanded connectivity, and a new button on the right Joy-Con, whose function remains a mystery for now.
One of the most exciting announcements is backward compatibility.
Both physical cartridges and digital titles from the original Nintendo Switch library will work on the Nintendo Switch 2, ensuring players won’t have to leave their favorite games behind.
Nintendo has also announced the Switch 2 Experience, giving fans a hands-on opportunity to try the console ahead of its release. The event will travel across several major cities around the world:
