Roller Jam brings Roller Dancing to MAX.

The highly anticipated competition series Roller Jam premiered last night on Max, kicking off a six-episode journey showcasing the nation’s top roller-skating crews. Executive-produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines, the series blends nostalgia with high-energy competition as teams roll and dance through the decades in pursuit of a $150,000 grand prize and a $10,000 donation to their local rink.
Meet your host and judges.
Hosted by Grammy-nominated singer and actress Jordin Sparks, the series brings an electrifying vibe to the screen. Sparks, who rose to fame as the youngest-ever winner of American Idol and became a multi-platinum artist with hits like “No Air,” lends her infectious energy and charm to the show. Joining her are two dynamic judges: Johnny Weir and Terrell Ferguson.

Weir, a two-time U.S. Olympian and figure skating champion, brings his extensive experience in performance and technique to the table. Known for his bold style and flawless routines, Weir has become a beloved figure in sports and pop culture, serving as an Olympic commentator and media personality. On the other side of the rink is Terrell Ferguson, a legend in the roller-skating world. As a skating icon, Ferguson’s influence has shaped the sport, making him an ideal judge for the first-ever nationwide roller dancing competition on television.

In an exclusive interview, I spoke with Johnny Weir, Terrell Ferguson, and Jordin Sparks about their excitement for Roller Jam. They revealed their favorite skating songs and the eras they’d love to jam to forever. Watch the full conversation below!
Each week, teams are tasked with creating new routines, blending roller-skating and dance, and performing in front of a live audience. With a rotating celebrity guest judge, the panel evaluates the routines, picking one standout team each episode to move closer to being crowned America’s ultimate roller dancing crew.
With its nostalgic yet innovative twist, Roller Jam promises to be a thrilling ride for fans of roller-skating and dance. New episodes air every Thursday on Max.
