Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien lead the twisted survival story, “Send Help.”
20th Century Studios has dropped the first trailer for Send Help, the upcoming darkly comedic psychological thriller from legendary director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Evil Dead). The all-original film is set to hit theaters nationwide on January 30, 2026.
A Twisted Tale of Survival
The trailer introduces viewers to Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien), two work colleagues who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after surviving a plane crash. What starts as a desperate fight to stay alive quickly turns into a battle of control, manipulation, and dark humor as the pair’s fragile alliance crumbles.
Raimi describes the story as one of psychological pressure and shifting power. “I’ve always loved stories where interesting, dynamic characters are pushed to extremes,” said Raimi. “In our story, the power shifts create an escalating situation that’s brimming with unexpected turns and suspense.”
An All-Star Cast and Creative Team
Joining McAdams and O’Brien are Edyll Ismail (La Brea), Dennis Haysbert (Far from Heaven), Xavier Samuel (Elvis), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Thaneth Warakulnukroh (Thai Cave Rescue), and Emma Raimi (Happy Pills).
The film is produced by Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi (65), with executive producer JJ Hook (The Amateur). The screenplay is written by the writing duo of Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Friday the 13th, Baywatch). It features an original score by the iconic composer Danny Elfman (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman).
A Genre-Bending Experience
Send Help promises Raimi’s signature mix of tension, wit, and surreal energy. The trailer teases sharp tonal shifts between humor and horror — a combination longtime fans of Raimi’s work will recognize immediately.
With Send Help, Raimi returns to original storytelling, blending psychological thrills with the absurdity of human behavior under extreme circumstances — a film that keeps audiences guessing (and laughing nervously) all the way to the end.
