Samuel L. Jackson Takes Over Texas in FRISCO KING Teaser From TULSA KING Creator

Samuel L. Jackson builds a new criminal empire in Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King spinoff as Paramount+ reveals its two-episode premiere.

Frisco, Texas, is about to get a new king, and he is bringing plenty of swagger, ambition, and criminal experience with him. Paramount+ has officially revealed the premiere date and first teaser for FRISCO KING, the highly anticipated spinoff of Taylor Sheridan’s hit crime series TULSA KING, starring Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson.

Jackson returns as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a seasoned New Orleans gangster who is ready to build an empire of his own in one of Texas’ fastest-growing suburban communities. The new Paramount+ original series premieres December 18 with two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday.

The announcement arrives at the perfect time for fans of Sheridan’s expanding crime universe. TULSA KING Season 4 premieres tomorrow, October 16, with Sylvester Stallone returning as Dwight “The General” Manfredi for another dangerous chapter in his criminal empire.

With Stallone continuing his reign in Oklahoma and Jackson preparing to take over North Texas, Paramount+ is setting the stage for two larger-than-life mob bosses to dominate the streaming platform.

Samuel L. Jackson Brings His Swagger to FRISCO KING

Written by Taylor Sheridan, FRISCO KING follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. as he trades the streets of New Orleans for the polished neighborhoods of Frisco, Texas.

At first glance, the wealthy suburb might seem like an unlikely destination for an experienced gangster. However, Lee quickly discovers a world of opportunity lurking beneath the manicured lawns, expensive homes, and seemingly respectable businesses.

Rather than relying on the traditional criminal operations he knows, Lee recognizes the potential to build something bigger by exploiting the hidden hustle of suburban America.

He begins assembling a team that includes an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and an increasingly unusual collection of business partners. Together, they turn small-time schemes into lucrative operations, gradually expanding Lee’s influence throughout the community.

Of course, building an empire never comes without consequences.

As Lee’s criminal ambitions grow, so does the danger surrounding him. Every successful scheme creates another opportunity for trouble, forcing the veteran gangster to remain one step ahead of his enemies and anyone looking to challenge his newfound authority.

The series promises a different environment from TULSA KING while embracing the same fish-out-of-water concept that helped make Stallone’s original series a hit.

Instead of an aging New York mobster establishing himself in Oklahoma, audiences will follow a street-smart New Orleans gangster who sees the criminal potential hiding in plain sight across suburban Texas.

For Jackson, the role offers another opportunity to showcase the commanding presence, razor-sharp dialogue, and unmistakable attitude that have made him one of Hollywood’s most recognizable performers.

How FRISCO KING Connects to TULSA KING

FRISCO KING expands the criminal universe established by Taylor Sheridan’s TULSA KING, which introduced audiences to Dwight Manfredi, a longtime New York mafia capo who was exiled to Oklahoma after spending 25 years in prison.

Rather than quietly accepting his new circumstances, Dwight assembled an unconventional crew and transformed Tulsa into the center of his growing criminal empire.

Jackson’s Russell Lee Washington Jr. was introduced during the third season of TULSA KING, establishing the character before his move into a standalone series.

Initially sent to eliminate Dwight, Lee ultimately formed an unlikely connection with Stallone’s character, opening the door for his own story.

Now, Jackson is stepping into the spotlight as the franchise explores another corner of the criminal underworld.

Although FRISCO KING will follow a new cast of characters and establish its own identity, the connection to TULSA KING remains an important part of its appeal.

Sylvester Stallone is also confirmed to make a special appearance in FRISCO KING, bringing Dwight Manfredi into Jackson’s Texas territory.

Who Stars in FRISCO KING?

Leading the series alongside Samuel L. Jackson is an ensemble featuring Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann.

Germann is known for his work on GEN V, while Caster previously appeared in Taylor Sheridan’s YELLOWSTONE universe. Pate has appeared in OUTER BANKS, adding another recognizable face to the upcoming crime drama.

Stallone’s special appearance further connects the new series to its predecessor, although additional details surrounding Dwight’s involvement have not been revealed.

TULSA KING Season 4 premieres October 16, and FRISCO KING premieres December 18 with two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday, exclusively on Paramount+.
