Disney+ Goes Bananas: The Banana Bowl Championship Heads Exclusively to Streamer This October

Savannah Bananas and Disney expand partnership with massive Banana Bowl event.

The Savannah Bananas are officially stepping onto Disney’s biggest stage yet.

Disney announced during its 2026 Upfront presentation that Disney+ will become the exclusive home of the Banana Bowl this October, bringing the wildly popular Banana Ball championship event to one of the largest streaming platforms in the world.

The live event will feature the top teams in the Banana Ball league battling for the season championship in what Disney describes as one of the biggest productions in league history. All six Banana Ball teams will participate as the event combines baseball, music, comedy, dancing, fan interaction, and large-scale entertainment into one massive streaming spectacle.

For Disney+, the Banana Bowl represents another major expansion into live event programming. For the Savannah Bananas, it marks yet another milestone in their meteoric rise from viral baseball phenomenon to mainstream entertainment powerhouse.

The Savannah Bananas Have Become More Than Baseball

What started as an unconventional baseball experiment has transformed into one of the hottest live entertainment brands in America.

The Savannah Bananas have built a massive national following by turning baseball into a nonstop performance. Their games feature choreographed dances, trick plays, crowd participation, comedy routines, musical numbers, and theatrical showmanship from first pitch to final out.

The formula has become a cultural phenomenon.

Stadiums across the country continue selling out as millions of fans consume Banana Ball clips online. Families, sports fans, and even casual viewers who may never watch traditional baseball have embraced the Bananas’ high-energy approach to entertainment.

Now, Disney is fully embracing that momentum.

Disney and Banana Ball Continue Expanding Their Partnership

The Banana Bowl announcement is only the latest step in Disney’s rapidly growing collaboration with the Savannah Bananas.

Earlier this year, ESPN and Disney+ launched a 25-game exclusive package featuring live Banana Ball games streaming on Disney+ and the ESPN App, with select matchups airing across ESPN networks and ABC.

The crossover between Banana Ball and Disney entertainment is also expanding beyond sports.

Savannah Bananas standout Jackson Olson is set to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, which will simulcast live across ABC and Disney+ this fall before streaming the next day on Hulu.

Meanwhile, Disney Parks have already welcomed the Bananas into the fold.

Banana Ball Has Already Taken Over Disney Parks

On March 26, 2026, the Savannah Bananas brought their signature chaos and fan-first energy to Disneyland Resort during “Savannah Bananas Day.” The celebration coincided with a game at Angel Stadium against the Indianapolis Clowns and blended Banana Ball’s over-the-top entertainment style directly into the Disney Parks atmosphere.

Later this month, Banana Ball heads to Walt Disney World Resort for another major event at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The May 29-30 celebration will feature the Party Animals taking on the Loco Beach Coconuts while continuing to expand the Banana Ball universe for fans across the country.

Additionally, Banana Ball will make a special stop near ESPN headquarters this summer with a marquee matchup at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 23 featuring the Party Animals and Indianapolis Clowns.

The Banana Bowl Could Become Disney+’s Next Big Live Event

Disney’s investment in the Savannah Bananas signals something much larger than a simple sports partnership.

The Banana Bowl sits at the intersection of live sports, streaming entertainment, viral internet culture, and family-friendly programming. It is exactly the kind of event designed to thrive in today’s media landscape, where audiences crave experiences that feel interactive, unpredictable, and instantly shareable.

That makes Banana Ball a natural fit for Disney’s growing live-event ambitions.

With Disney now embracing the Savannah Bananas across streaming, television, sports programming, and theme park experiences, Banana Ball is no longer just a viral baseball sensation.

It is quickly becoming one of the most unique entertainment brands in modern sports.

The Banana Bowl streams live exclusively on Disney+ this October.
