JD and Turk Are Back in Scrubs Revival First Look Photos as ABC Sets Feb. 25 Premiere

J.D., Turk, and Elliot return in Scrubs revival first look on ABC.

The stethoscopes are coming back out. ABC has released first-look photos from the Scrubs revival, reuniting Zach Braff’s John “J.D.” Dorian and Donald Faison’s Christopher Turk in scrubs for the first time in a long time. The 30-minute comedy premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026. Episodes will stream on Hulu the next day.

The images lean into what made the original series a comfort watch for so many fans. J.D. and Turk are together again, facing a hospital world that has changed around them. Medicine has evolved. Interns have evolved. Yet their friendship is still the anchor.

Where We Last Saw J.D. and Turk

Longtime viewers last saw J.D. at the end of the show’s original run, saying goodbye to Sacred Heart as he headed to a new job. It was a major turning point. He left the place that shaped him as a doctor and as a person.

Turk, meanwhile, stayed behind. He remained at Sacred Heart and kept climbing. He also held down the home front for the duo’s friendship, even as J.D.’s life moved forward.

Later, the characters popped up again during the show’s brief Med School era. That season widened the world and brought back familiar faces. Still, the heart of the franchise always came back to J.D. and Turk’s bond, plus the way the series balanced absurd laughs with honest emotion.

Familiar Faces Return to Sacred Heart

Sarah Chalke is back as Elliot Reid, reuniting the original trio. Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley will guest star as Carla and Dr. Perry Cox, respectively.

The creative team also reunites behind the scenes. Bill Lawrence, through Doozer Productions, returns as an executive producer alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Braff, Faison, and Chalke will star and executive-produce. Aseem Batra serves as executive producer and showrunner. Randall Winston also executive produces. The series comes from 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.

Why the Fan Base Still Shows Up

Even years after the original finale, Scrubs never really left the conversation. Fans kept it alive through rewatches, quotes, memes, and debates over favorite episodes that still hit hard.

What kept the show enduring was the combo. It could be silly one minute, then deeply sincere the next. The revival seems built to chase that same balance, with new and returning characters navigating Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and a few surprises.

When and Where to Watch

Scrubs premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, on ABC. It streams on Hulu the next day.
