Sam Mendes to direct four Beatles movies starring Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and more.

Sony Pictures has unveiled the cast for The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. It is a groundbreaking project directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes. The ambitious cinematic endeavor will explore the lives of each member of the legendary band with four interconnected films. They are slated for release in April 2028.
Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing) will portray John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Aftersun) takes on the role of Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) will play Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) is set to portray George Harrison.

The films aim to tell the individual stories of each Beatle while painting a collective portrait of the band that transformed music and pop culture. “Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary,” reads the film’s official logline.
Mendes, known for 1917 and Skyfall, will direct all four films, a first-of-its-kind approach to cinematic storytelling. The films will be released theatrically in April 2028.
Further details on the project, including production timelines and additional cast announcements, are expected in the coming months.
