Spider-Noir Teaser Reveals Nicolas Cage as a Gritty 1930s Web-Slinger

Nicolas Cage leads a dark new Marvel vision in Spider-Noir.

Prime Video has released the official teaser trailer for Spider-Noir, a live-action Marvel series starring Nicolas Cage in his first leading television role. The highly anticipated project arrives as a global streaming release on May 27, 2026, following an earlier domestic debut on MGM+ on May 25.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series will launch as a binge release across more than 240 countries and territories.

A Gritty Reinvention of the Marvel Mythos

Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the series reimagines the superhero story through the lens of a 1930s crime drama. Cage plays Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator navigating a shadowy New York City while confronting the emotional fallout of a deeply personal tragedy. As secrets resurface, he must reconcile his past life as the city’s lone masked hero.

The tone leans heavily into pulp storytelling, blending superhero mythology with the look and feel of classic noir cinema.

A Unique Dual Viewing Experience

In a bold, creative move, Spider-Noir will be available to stream in two distinct formats. Viewers can choose between an “Authentic Black & White” presentation that channels vintage film aesthetics or a “True-Hue Full Color” version for a modern visual approach. The option allows audiences to tailor the experience to their preferred style.

Ensemble Cast Brings Depth to the 1930s Setting

The series features a strong supporting lineup alongside Cage. Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson round out the main cast. Guest appearances include Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.

Creative Team Behind the Camera

Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer helmed and executive-produced the first two episodes. Co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot developed the series alongside the Oscar-winning creative minds behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal.

Lord and Miller executive produce through their Lord Miller banner with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear, while Pascal produces via Pascal Pictures. Cage and Pavlina Hatoupis also serve as executive producers.

A Stylish New Corner of the Spider-Verse

Spider-Noir expands Marvel storytelling into a moodier, character-driven space that leans as much into detective fiction as superhero action. With its period setting, cinematic influences, and Cage’s signature intensity, the series aims to carve out a distinct identity within the broader Spider-Verse landscape.

The series premieres domestically on MGM+ on May 25, followed by a worldwide launch on Prime Video on May 27.
