Spider-Noir trailer unleashes Nicolas Cage in Prime Video’s bold Marvel series.

Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for Spider-Noir, delivering a stylish and gritty first look at the highly anticipated Marvel series led by Nicolas Cage. The show marks Cage’s first leading television role and brings a darker, pulp-inspired take on the Spider-Man mythos to life.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series will debut on MGM+ on May 25, 2026. It will then stream globally on Prime Video beginning May 27, 2026, reaching audiences in more than 240 countries.
A Noir Twist With a Unique Viewing Experience
Spider-Noir immediately sets itself apart with a bold creative choice. Viewers can watch the series in two formats: “Authentic Black & White” or “True-Hue Full Color.” This dual presentation leans fully into the noir aesthetic, allowing fans to experience the story as either a classic detective tale or a modern reinterpretation.

The trailer premiered during CCXPMX26 at the Centro Banamex Convention Center in Mexico City, where more than 2,100 fans packed the venue. Cast members, including Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, and Karen Rodriguez, joined co-showrunner Oren Uziel to debut footage and an extended scene. A special video greeting from Cage added to the excitement.
The Story: A Broken Hero in 1930s New York
Set in a shadowy version of 1930s New York, Spider-Noir follows Ben Reilly, portrayed by Cage. This version of the character is a weathered private investigator struggling with his past after a deeply personal tragedy.
Unlike traditional Spider-Man stories, this narrative leans heavily into detective fiction. The city feels dangerous, morally gray, and unforgiving. As a result, this version of Spider-Man operates more like a lone gumshoe than a bright-eyed hero.

The full ensemble cast also includes Abraham Popoola and Brendan Gleeson, along with a strong lineup of guest stars such as Lukas Haas and Cameron Britton.
The History of Spider-Man Noir
The Spider-Man Noir character first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2009 as part of the Noir imprint. Created by David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Carmine Di Giandomenico, the character reimagined Spider-Man in a Depression-era setting.
This version of Spider-Man operates in a far more grounded and brutal world. Guns replace gadgets, and moral lines are often blurred. The tone draws heavily from classic noir cinema, blending superhero action with detective storytelling.
Spider-Noir in the Spider-Verse Films
Many fans were first introduced to the character through the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In that film, Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir, delivering a memorable and often humorous performance that stood out among the ensemble.
The character returned in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, further cementing his place as a fan-favorite variant. His exaggerated noir dialogue and black-and-white aesthetic became one of the franchise’s most distinctive elements.

However, Spider-Noir is not a spin-off of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series is set in a stand-alone universe and is not directly tied to or a continuation of any Sony or Marvel films.
Nicolas Cage’s Filmography: A Career Built on Bold Choices
Cage brings decades of experience and a unique screen presence to the role. His career has been defined by risk-taking performances across genres.
Nicolas Cage is not just leading Spider-Noir; he is bringing one of the wildest, boldest, and most legendary filmographies in Hollywood with him. His career stretches from Oscar-winning dramatic work in Leaving Las Vegas to unforgettable action classics like Face/Off, Con Air, and The Rock. He has led blockbuster adventures with National Treasure, embraced comic book chaos in Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass, and turned in career-reminding performances in Pig, Dream Scenario, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
In recent years, Cage has also leaned into darker, stranger, and more daring genre work with Longlegs, Renfield, and Willy’s Wonderland, proving he remains one of the few actors who can make any project feel instantly more unpredictable.
For Spider-Noir, that range matters. Cage has played monsters, heroes, criminals, detectives, legends and broken men, which makes him uniquely suited for a 1930s private investigator forced to confront his past as the city’s only superhero.
His previous voice work as Spider-Man Noir in Into the Spider-Verse makes this casting feel like a natural evolution. However, this time, he steps fully into the role in live action.
A New Chapter for Marvel Television
Spider-Noir represents a bold expansion of Marvel storytelling on television. By stepping away from traditional superhero formulas, the series embraces a genre-blending approach that feels fresh and cinematic.
For the first time, viewers can experience Spider-Noir in two different visual styles. The series will stream in both “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color,” giving fans the choice between a classic noir presentation and a full-color version.
The series premieres May 25, 2026, on MGM+ and begins streaming globally on Prime Video on May 27, 2026.
