SPINAL TAP II Turns It Up to Eleven in IMAX With Exclusive Event

IMAX Live Q&A with Marty DiBergi and Spinal Tap members coming September 10.

Fans of rock’s loudest fictional band will soon have the chance to turn their amps up to eleven once again. SPINAL TAP II: THE END CONTINUES will debut in IMAX on Wednesday, September 10. It will feature an exclusive On, Off, and Around the Record Live Event. The screening will feature a special Q&A with legendary documentarian Marty DiBergi (played by Rob Reiner) and the reunited band members: David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer). The conversation will be streamed live from the TCL Chinese Theatres IMAX in Los Angeles.

A Rock Reunion 41 Years in the Making

Forty-one years after the release of the groundbreaking mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, the estranged bandmates are forced to come together for one final concert. The film once again follows DiBergi as he attempts to capture his favorite metal gods on camera. He is now grappling with age, mortality, and the hope that their 12th drummer can avoid the bizarre fates of his predecessors.

This long-awaited sequel will see the trio share the stage with music legends including Paul McCartney and Elton John. Alongside their celebrity friends, Spinal Tap will confront old grudges, revisit their infamous history, and attempt to put on a concert worthy of their chaotic legacy.

Star-Studded Cast

Directed by Rob Reiner, the film features an all-star cast. It includes Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Fran Drescher, Paul Shaffer, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Questlove, and Chris Addison.
