Paramount+ has released the official trailer for its upcoming original series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, set to debut with two episodes on Thursday, January 15, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. The 10-episode season will continue with new episodes every Thursday, culminating in the season finale on March 12.

In a surprise announcement, Stephen Colbert revealed that he will lend his voice to the “Digital Dean of Students,” a virtual authority figure responsible for delivering daily announcements and urgent alerts to the cadets of Starfleet Academy. Fans eager to join in on the fun can now explore StarfleetAcademy.com, a newly launched interactive website offering a deep dive into campus life, academics, and faculty at the fictional Academy. The site invites visitors to “enroll” and receive exclusive updates and behind-the-scenes content as the series nears launch.
New York Comic Con Panel Reveals Details
The announcement was made during the Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic Con, which featured an exclusive Starfleet Academy segment. Cast members Holly Hunter, Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, Zoë Steiner, and Paul Giamatti joined co-showrunners and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau for a lively conversation moderated by Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz.
