Pedro Pascal returns for The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Our first look at Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has arrived. Lucasfilm has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming film, which is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
A New Chapter in the Star Wars Saga
The film follows Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal. He is the legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his apprentice Grogu as they embark on their most dangerous mission yet. Set after the fall of the Empire, Imperial warlords remain scattered across the galaxy while the fledgling New Republic struggles to protect everything won in the Rebellion.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the story finds Din and Grogu caught in a relentless battle that could alter the galaxy’s future.
Returning Talent and New Faces
Favreau, who created The Mandalorian series, directs and produces the film alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce. Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson, known for his work on The Mandalorian series and Black Panther, returns to compose the score.

The film stars Pascal reprising his role as Din Djarin and introduces Sigourney Weaver in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
Filmed for IMAX
Unlike the Disney+ series, this new installment was shot with theatrical scale in mind. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has been filmed for IMAX, promising fans an immersive cinematic experience.
A Theatrical Star Wars Event
The Mandalorian and Grogu mark the franchise’s return to the big screen after several years of Disney+ series expansions. The project blends the intimate bond of its two central characters with the scale and spectacle of a full-blown Star Wars theatrical release.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu open exclusively in theaters on May 22, 2026.
