New ‘Superman’ trailer reveals tone, action, and humanity of James Gunn’s reboot.
A brand new trailer for Superman has officially landed, giving fans their most detailed glimpse yet at James Gunn’s highly anticipated reboot of the iconic superhero. Packed with emotional stakes, a sense of wonder, and high-flying action, the trailer teases a fresh yet familiar take on the Man of Steel.
Set to hit theaters July 11, Superman marks the first film in the newly reimagined DC Universe. Gunn will serve triple duty as writer, director, and producer alongside DC Studios co-head Peter Safran.
In classic Gunn fashion, the trailer blends epic scale and emotional sincerity with just the right touch of humor. David Corenswet, known for Hollywood and the upcoming Twisters, plays both Superman and Clark Kent, presenting a hero who’s not just powerful but deeply human.
Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) stars as the fearless Lois Lane, while Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Juror #2) steps into the role of Lex Luthor, offering a cold, calculated version of Superman’s archenemy.
The stacked ensemble also includes Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Additional cast members include Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.
The trailer teases big-screen spectacle with scenes of Superman soaring above Metropolis, facing powerful threats, and defending a world that’s wary of him. But at its core, the film promises a Superman driven by hope, empathy, and unwavering optimism.
