New villains, bigger heists, and a star-studded cast shake things up in The Bad Guys 2.

Everyone’s favorite reformed felons are back—but they’re not the only ones causing chaos. DreamWorks Animation has dropped the trailer for The Bad Guys 2, the action-packed sequel to the 2022 hit. This time, the crew faces off with a new gang of slick criminals known as The Bad Girls. Packed with laughs, twists, and high-stakes heists, the animated comedy hits theaters on August 1.
Based on the best-selling book series by Aaron Blabey, the sequel picks up with Mr. Wolf and his crew of reformed animal outlaws. They’re doing their best to live a clean, crime-free life. But staying good isn’t as easy as it looks. Their plans quickly unravel when they’re caught up in a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist. The job is orchestrated by a slick new gang of elite criminals they never saw coming.

Since the first film’s release, the book series has skyrocketed from 8 million to over 30 million copies sold.
Sam Rockwell returns as the smooth-talking Mr. Wolf, leading the original voice cast that includes Marc Maron as the sly Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as the master-of-disguise Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as the hot-headed Mr. Piranha, and Awkwafina as the tech genius Ms. Tarantula, a.k.a. “Webs.”
Joining the crew are new cast members Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple) as Kitty Kat, a clever snow leopard and leader of The Bad Girls; Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) as Pigtail, a brilliant boar with serious engineering skills; and Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Poker Face) as Doom, a crafty raven with a talent for trickery.

More original voice cast returns for more mayhem.
Zazie Beetz returns as Governor Diane Foxington, with Richard Ayoade back as Professor Marmalade. Alex Borstein reprises her role as Commissioner Misty Luggins, and Lilly Singh returns as reporter Tiffany Fluffit.

The film is directed by Pierre Perifel, who helmed the original, and co-directed by JP Sans, who previously served as head of character animation. Damon Ross returns as producer, and composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) is back to score the sequel. Watch the trailer below!
