Big Guest Stars Join The Final Season
The fourth season will feature a huge lineup of guest stars.
New guest stars include Mariah Carey, Romany Malco, Chloe Bailey, Lorraine Toussaint, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, Kym Whitley, Dee Nasty, Adele Givens, Ali Wong, JB Smoove, and Lashana Lynch.
They join recurring guests Anthony Anderson as Ray Ray and Tiffany Haddish as Ms. Hill.
The main voice cast also returns. Kyla Pratt stars as Penny Proud, with Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud and Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud.
The cast also includes JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric The Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Raquel Lee Bolleau as Nubia Gross, Marcus T. Paulk as Myron, and Melissa De Sousa as Sunset Boulevardez.
A Proud Family Wizmas Brings The Franchise To Stop-Motion
Disney+ is also expanding the Proud Family universe with A Proud Family Wizmas.
The new holiday special will be a song-filled, stop-motion event. It gives the franchise a fresh visual style while keeping its musical spirit alive.
The special is produced by Disney Television Animation, part of Disney Kids & Family. It also brings back creator and executive producer Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar of BaR Productions.
David Brooks serves as co-director. The special is being made with Portland-based stop-motion studio HouseSpecial.
Kurt Farquhar returns as songwriter and composer. The special will include six new original songs.
For fans, this is one of the biggest reasons to keep watching after season four begins. The special gives The Proud Family a new holiday chapter and a different animation style.
Bruce W. Smith And Ralph Farquhar Extend Disney Deal
The news also comes as Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar renew their overall deal with Disney Television Animation for another year.
Under their BaR Productions banner, they will continue to write, develop, and produce series for platforms across Disney Entertainment Television.
That renewal is important for the future of Disney animation. Smith and Farquhar have helped shape one of Disney Channel’s most important animated families. Their work on The Proud Family has left a lasting mark on pop culture.
The revival has also earned major recognition. The series has won a NAMIC Award, multiple NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding Animated Series, and a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series.
The series has also received nominations from the GLAAD Media Awards and Annie Awards.
For fans who grew up with Penny Proud, this is a full-circle moment. For newer viewers, it is a chance to catch up before the final season arrives.
All episodes from the first three seasons of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder are now streaming on Disney+. Previous seasons of the original series are also available on the platform.
