Iconic Kaiju meets classic beer in collectible Godzilla can designs.

Toho International has joined forces with Pabst Blue Ribbon for a one-of-a-kind collaboration featuring the King of Monsters. In celebration of Godzilla’s 70th anniversary, Pabst Blue Ribbon will swap out its iconic Blue Ribbon logo this fall for limited-edition Godzilla-themed cans, which will appear on more than 60 million cans and boxes nationwide beginning in October.
A Monster Makeover for PBR
The Godzilla cans continue Pabst’s long-running art can series, featuring four unique designs that showcase some of Toho’s most beloved kaiju. From the towering Mechagodzilla to the three-headed King Ghidorah, from the elegant Mothra to Godzilla himself, each can be paired with a detailed backdrop inspired by Japanese mythology.

The artwork comes courtesy of official Godzilla artist Attack Peter (Peter Santa-Maria), who used his signature hand-carved linoleum block print technique to create bold black-and-white illustrations. A limited run of cans will even feature a special “blue atomic breath effect” that activates when the can reaches frosty cold temperatures.
A Creative Collaboration
“Bringing the legendary Godzilla character into PBR’s world is massive on its own, but teaming up with Attack Peter on the designs completely leveled this partnership up,” said Rachel Keeton, Sr. Brand Director at Pabst Blue Ribbon. “His style and process of hand-carving these illustrations continues to push the boundaries of what the PBR art series is all about.”

Attack Peter echoed the excitement, calling the project a career highlight. “The King of the Monsters has smashed open so many doors for me, and today is a continuation of that epic journey! I’m so incredibly fortunate to work alongside Toho International and Pabst Blue Ribbon to bring my linoleum block print designs honoring Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, and King Ghidorah from my studio in Miami into your coolers, parties, and anywhere else that calls for a monster-sized celebration.”
Expanding Godzilla’s Legacy
Kristin Parcell, General Manager of Toho International, highlighted the broader cultural impact: “At Toho International, we’re always looking for innovative ways to expand Godzilla’s presence in culture. Partnering with Pabst Blue Ribbon, a historic brand with a rich legacy and passionate following fit for the King of Monsters, allows us to engage fans in a fresh and dynamic way.”
The collaboration not only commemorates Godzilla’s milestone birthday but also reinforces Pabst’s tradition of championing artists through its art can series, which has brought original artwork to hundreds of millions of cans.
