Enter the grid again with both TRON films restored for 4K UHD release.

Disney’s groundbreaking sci-fi adventures, TRON and TRON: Legacy, are getting the ultimate upgrade. Both films will debut on 4K Ultra HD for the first time on September 16, arriving on digital platforms and Blu-ray with Dolby Vision picture and Dolby Atmos sound.
Restored for a New Generation
The original TRON (1982) was digitally scanned and meticulously restored by The Walt Disney Film Restoration team under the supervision of director Steven Lisberger. Dirt, warping, and imperfections were corrected to ensure pristine image quality. TRON: Legacy (2010) has been remastered in High Dynamic Range from the original digital sources with oversight from director Joseph Kosinski.

The result is a pair of films that transport audiences back to the digital frontier with visuals and sound more immersive than ever before. Both titles will be available through Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.
A Digital Frontier
When it first hit theaters in 1982, TRON opened the gateway to a bold new universe of computer-generated wonder, inspiring a generation of filmmakers and fans with its pioneering special effects. Nearly three decades later, TRON: Legacy expanded the saga with dazzling visuals, a high-tech story, and a now-iconic electronic score by Daft Punk.

Disney is also offering fans a collectible SteelBook edition featuring custom artwork and packaging alongside previously released bonus extras.
TRON Synopsis
When a brilliant video game maker (Jeff Bridges) hacks into the mainframe of his former employer, he is beamed inside a dazzling digital world and becomes part of the game he created.
TRON: Legacy Synopsis

The Grid Expands with TRON: Ares
The restored releases arrive just weeks ahead of the highly anticipated next chapter in the franchise. TRON: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, Evan Peters, and Greta Lee, is set to hit theaters on October 10. The film, which Fandango recently named the most anticipated of the fall, continues the saga with new characters and cutting-edge visuals that promise to push the boundaries of sci-fi storytelling.
