Tubi leans into YA Horror with “Buzzkill,” now filming with breakout trio.

Tubi is heading back to campus for a new kind of slasher story. The streaming service has cast Siena Agudong (“Sidelined: The QB and Me,” “Sidelined 2: Intercepted”), Brec Bassinger (“Final Destination: Bloodlines”), and Aliyah’s Interlude (“English Teacher”) in its upcoming young adult horror-comedy original movie, “Buzzkill.” The film is currently in production.
“Buzzkill” centers on a group of sorority sisters who find themselves trapped with a vengeful killer. The movie’s hook lands on Nora, a party girl who keeps getting written off as the house screw-up. When a sister’s murder turns the night into a crime scene, Nora realizes the drunker she gets, the more her tipsy memories start revealing clues about who is murdering her friends. She has to move fast because her next vodka soda might be her last call.
“Tubi has seen incredible momentum with YA viewers. It continues to lead the charge with passionate horror fans, so bringing those worlds together felt like a natural next step,” Tubi Chief Content Officer Adam Lewinson said. He called “Buzzkill” “a bold, fresh fusion,” adding that it is “a uniquely twisted genre ride anchored by a vibrant, breakout cast.”
Siena Agudong Leads as Nora
Agudong plays Nora. She is a fast-talking party girl dismissed by her sisters until the murders reveal she may be the only person capable of solving the crime. Nora uses alcohol to unlock fractured memories, chasing the truth even if it destroys her.
Brec Bassinger Plays the Sorority’s Perfect Face
Bassinger plays Kendall, a flawless legacy queen and the definition of Sigma Omega Koppa perfection. Treating tragedy like a public relations crisis, Kendall will bury anything that threatens the sorority’s pristine image.
Aliyah’s Interlude Brings the No-Nonsense Truth-Teller
Aliyah’s Interlude plays Lexi, Sigma’s resident truth-teller, who is allergic to anything fake. She has little patience for Nora’s obsession with solving the murders, until Nora’s chaotic theories start landing closer to the truth than anyone wants to admit.
The Creative Team Behind “Buzzkill”
“Buzzkill” is written by Suzanne Keilly and directed by Jem Garrard. The film is produced by Blue Ice Pictures. Lance Samuels, Agudong, Garrard, and Keilly serve as executive producers.
With its sorority setting, a killer on the loose, and a mystery that sharpens with every drink, “Buzzkill” is shaping up as a fresh spin on the genre that pairs laughs with last-call terror.
