“Twister” stars the dynamic duo of Academy Award winner Helen Hunt (“As Good as It Gets”) and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Bill Paxton (“Apollo 13”). The film also boasts a stellar supporting cast, including Cary Elwes (“The Princess Bride”), Jami Gertz (“The Lost Boys”), Lois Smith (“Minority Report”), Philip Seymour Hoffman (“Boogie Nights”), Alan Ruck (“Succession”), Todd Field (“Eyes Wide Shut”), and Jeremy Davies (“Saving Private Ryan”). Directed by Jan de Bont and written by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin, “Twister” became an instant classic with its groundbreaking special effects and gripping storyline. Produced by Crichton, Kathleen Kennedy, and Ian Bryce, with Steven Spielberg, Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald, and Gerald R. Molen as executive producers, the film was a technical marvel of its time. In fact, “Twister” was the first theatrical feature to be released on DVD on March 25, 1997.
The 4K Ultra HD release has been meticulously remastered.
It has been done under the supervision of director Jan de Bont, who ensures that every frame meets his high standards. This edition includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the film’s theatrical version in 4K with HDR and a digital download option. Fans can purchase the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc for $33.99. This summer, the epic disaster saga continues with “Twisters,” hitting theaters on July 19, 2024. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of “Minari,” “Twisters” promises an adrenaline-pumping return to the storm-ravaged plains. It stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos. Edgar-Jones plays Kate Carter. She is a former storm chaser turned storm pattern analyst who gets pulled back into the fray by her friend Javi (Ramos). They join forces with Tyler Owens (Powell), a social media superstar known for his daring storm-chasing exploits. As multiple storm systems converge over Oklahoma, the team faces unprecedented meteorological phenomena in a battle for survival.
The sequel also features a talented ensemble cast. It includes Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Corenswet, Daryl McCormack, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, Nik Dodani, Kiernan Shipka, and Paul Scheer.
